as the snow falls, my thoughts turn to yarn

huge snow flakes swirl outside my window.

spring seems so very elusive as the world becomes coated in snow.

once more.

i have been knitting.
my new hobby,
a new way of 'painting'

a slow process


i love the textures and colours of yarn.

i am excited by the possibilities.



i love the idea of lovingly making an object
for another person's use, comfort, and enjoyment.
an aesthetic object
a prayerful object
slowly made and crafted
an ancient art
two sticks, yarn
simple movements
making complexly simple patterns

as i beginner, i am in my "scarf" phase.

my current scarf is very wide, will be long, and has stripes
of muted pine green and slightly golden cream.
the yarn is fuzzy and chunky.
i am making it for a englishman.
(i've started knitting for next christmas...
being a beginner,
i make a slow process
even slower.)
